You are viewing a gorgeous and highly unusual water feature or fountain made from stone / slate . I hope the photos do this piece some justice, it’s certainly better in the flesh. The piece stands in at an impressive five feet tall. It’s a wonderful piece of modernist art, something you can imagine in a flashy villa or bijou.
You can see from the photos of the top of the piece how this works – there are two holes in the top of the stone. From the holes the water would flow to cascade gently over the stone . It’s not designed to be a spurting fountain, more like a trickle so the water can hug the surface of the different materials.
It’s a shame we couldn’t hook this up to illustrate the point but sure you can imagine the beauty of this piece in full working order. It would make a great piece for inside or outside your home. It would be easy to hook up via a pump and water supply. It’s a lovely modernist piece. We bought this from an architectural firm in Islington, North London after they had bought it from a house sale in Golders Green.
