You are viewing a gorgeous pair of Cantonese ginger jars. The jars each have removable lids on top of which an ormolu ring sits. The jars are ginger jars in which the famous Eastern root plant would have been stored to keep fresh. They are over two feet tall each – an impressive pair. Nowadays these would make for a fantastic pair of decorative pieces to take pride of place in your home.
The urns are white with blue hand painted floral designs over all of the surfaces of both urns and lids. The designs are very intricate and the work of a highly skilled draughtsman – it’s amazing when you think the hours of work that have gone into these astounding pieces.
